There’s no way anything he said or did is a more egregious offense than that fucking hat.

“...metal notches installed on a concrete ledge to deter skateboarders...”
You would welcome a homeless person into your home? I’m sympathetic to them, but many, if not most homeless people have severe mental health issues. I don’t think I’d feel safe letting them sleep in my house.
Right. Because you don’t acknowledge the humanity of homeless people. Which is the problem. Thank you for illustrating it so clearly.
Fuck off
You’re a sad sack of shit.
“Why don’t they just move to somewhere they could get a job?????” - every American problem-solving brain genius
I saw the headline and figured it was going to be some really weird reason that nobody would really think of because everyone assumes they’re to prevent homeless people...and then it turns out that it was the obvious answer that literally anyone who has spent time in big cities already knows.
Did anyone not already know this? I grew up in the Bay Area, and benches in San Francisco since at least the 1990s have had immovable bars that function as armrests, but everyone knew their real purpose was to break the bench into sections that couldn’t be laid down on.
We should consider the horrifying reality that, to most Americans, “the homelessness problem” does not refer to the suffering of the people who are living on the streets; rather, it consists of the inconvenience of having to look at them.
Not to mention it usually costs less to actually house the homeless than it is to keep them on the streets. (And in general increasing social safety nets help reduce a whole lot of ills.)
It’s not really a secret. Cities have also been putting retractable spikes on porches and stairways to prevent homeless people from sleeping there at night.
You should be digging into your grammar textbook, buddy.
This isn’t identity politics, if you ask me. This is someone taking a perceived (and might I add bullshit) negative and putting it on its head.
Ewwwwww......you started a massive GRAMMAR BRAWL below! And on a Thursday no less.
She’s got my vote. And, as a Michigander, I actually can vote for her.
Holy shit. This is MAGNIFICENT.
Yeah, there seems to be remarkably little agreement on the actual distinction, but everyone is sure that theirs is correct.
I love this ad, but the “less” thing did grate. That said, you know what really grated? The Youtube comments that accompany this video. I KNOW, I KNOW, NEVER READ THE COMMENTS.
So much pride right now. I dig it.
