First off, I love your perspective but I don’t know if such a confrontational approach to the interviewee would last very long, especially when the subject is as ignorant as nazis are, which is ultimately the essential point: these mofos are simply and belligerently ignorant.

Yeah, or run it past literally any person of color who could set these editors straight on seemingly quotidian people who showed up smiling to lynchings. I’m sure some of them liked jazz, even.

Thank you, you’re so sweet.

#allnazilivesmatter is basically what he wrote.

Occam’s razor applies - the simplest reason the journalist found fluff was because there is only fluff to find. The difference between Nazis and white Americans is trivial, and always has been.

Well said. If this article was about what happens when a Nazi is confronted with the truth about his or her misguided beliefs, it might have done some good, if only for the inevitable head explosion of the subject which I would have enjoyed reading about. Instead, we get a person who, as you said, may not have

The NYT article was a waste of my time to read. It was a waste of space that could have been used for something more hard hitting and substantive. It really was like a Italian hoagie without any meat in it.

The problem is it is difficult for someone who hasn’t faced racism, neo-nazi or otherwise, write an article about

The really interesting question unexamined is when did extreme fascist views normalize in Ohio?

Perhaps the story was fluff because the writer himself knew: he dared not disturb the prevailing, pathetic powers in D.C., or he’d threaten the Times’ ability to get the White House to speak with the Gray Lady. Both officially and via leaks.

Hasta lasagna, don’t get any on ya!

Eek barba dirkle, somebody’s gonna get laid in college.

The issue isn’t that spending money is bad, the issue is “what do we get for that money?” Spending on healthcare, education, and infrastructure has proven, demonstrable benefits and a healthy return on investments. Spending on “let’s give rich folks some money and hope they’ll be nicer to us” has never worked out

It’s a time honored art, but this one is especially good. It just needs an “I’m not gay” to really put it into that top tier.

Now playing

Edit: You pulled me out of the greys right as I edited it!

WaPo continuing to do real journalism...at real cost to Trump and co.

This is scandalous! Why was he wearing her shirt and pants?
