You fail to mention that the Marlins were in no need of a back end relief role as there closer AJ Ramos was 24-24 that season in save opportunities. They really didn’t need to add a back-end closer type that drastically.

Also Jorge Polanco is currently #4 in WAR and I don’t think you’d say he’s the fourth-best player in baseball. There’s a lot of noise in a SSS dose of WAR and it’s not the way the stat is intended to be used.

Looking over Football outsiders today, the Patriots beat the no.1 DVOA team (KC), the no.2 DVOA team (LAR), and the number 3 DVOA (LAC) team in the postseason this year. That’s crazy.

I am confused on why the general consensus is that the game was bad. Are we, as a whole, really that enamored with offense that we cannot appreciate the defensive game that just happened?  This was not a bad football game, it was a great defensive game.
