Put a flat (boxer) engine near the front to make it stable when there’s no load in there and have the gearbox out the back under the cab. Working on the engine wouldn’t be that difficult with the bed up. Layout of a sports car, practicality of this design.

The Merkur was a different car based on the South African model. Also, the Cosworths got their names from the company (Cosworth) who bolted a Double Overhead Cam and Turbo onto the 2.0ltr Pinto engine, creating the YB series of engine that powered the Ford Cosworth cars. The engines are only similar ish.

One of a few cars that i would turn down the chance to drive spiritedly. I’d own one (it’s in my top 10 on looks alone). I’d just need a brave pill before i tried to get near it’s (sudden) limits.

This is a good and a bad thing. Good that someone else gets a shot, bad because there will probably be far less excitement this year now Maldonado has gone.
