Come down to Austin and let me know, we'll make it happen.

I struggled with the same thing! I think it works either way...
Before we settled on the F Pace for my wife, she joked around that she wanted to buy the F Type. I kept saying no, think of the upcoming children....
It's going to be really awkward to tell her now I want the F Type....I hold you responsible, Doug.
My ‘14 S4 engages the parking brake anytime the door is opened and ignition is running. That’s about as good as the P selection, since it's electric and holds incredibly well. So not all cars require the ignition to be off for these common-sense safety features to be enabled.
Maybe 2011 is too old? I would think the A8 would have been ahead of the pack even back then, but there's a strong possibility that safety feature came in later years.
It’s actually quite unbelievable that cars still come without the “automatic” headlight function anymore. Friends parents bought a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and I do not believe it had automatic headlights.
WTF?
I would think if the car is (trying to be) fancy enough to have an electronic shifter that differs from the norm, it should be smart enough, like ACTUAL luxury cars (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) to apply the brake automatically if the driver attempts to exit the vehicle and the car is not in Park.
I agree and think the new XC90 is a super sexy design. My wife thinks it's ugly. I tried to convince her to get that with the T8 hybrid. :(
Actually it seems like the lease deals on the F Pace aren't great. You can get a nice XJL for less on a lease because of the subsidies, even a Range Rover Sport is less expensive on a lease.
We did discuss, just not lock in. We put a $500 deposit with Jaguar USA to reserve it. The dealer got nothing from us until yesterday when the car was ready to be picked up.
Having driven the XE and now having owned the F Pace S (for a whole day!), the F Pace S is certainly the way to go. It’s heavier but only by a small margin and feels more planted. Even driving up the street you get a much better steering feel from it.
Definitely agree on the numb steering. Jaguar had the Art of Performance event and we drove the XE around an auto X track and the biggest gripe was the bad, almost too nimble steering.
I know it's not a fair comparison but bring it by and let's do an S4 / XE side by side comparison!
Too late for us...we already ordered the F Pace...to be delivered next week. Really hope they've sorted out some of these concerns by now...
Funny because after your article was posted, the S4 Facebook group blew it up.
I can generally do this, but eh, I’m an Audi owner/enthusiast.
Thank you! This is what I’ve been telling anyone that asks if I’m getting the new S4. I’ll keep my B8.5 S4 for all of the reasons you stated above.
Although, I'm in a new A4 loaner this week, and the center stack is growing on me, and the new tech is quite nice...
It would be nice if I could actually watch this to form my own opinion. No cable and it's not available on any streaming service without paying $3 an episode and it sounds like it may not be worth that...
Have you used it yet? It's actually really nice. You're right in that it's still a fairly simple interface, however the image quality is superb and in this case, size DOES matter. The big screen with the navigation showing is very nice.
The B8.5 generation S4 looks better than the S5. There’s just something weird about the proportions of the S5. 4 doors makes it look right.
