Harris can not unilaterally change the rules of the Senate. It takes a vote (or unanimous consent). There were at least 2 Democratic Senators who were opposed the the $15/hr minimum wage, so that was not going to happen. If they had attempted to do so without amending or suspending the rules, there definitely would

You weren’t trying to land in Hawaii in 2012 were you ;)

She merely pointed out that they weren’t following their own rules.  So in all likelihood all she did is prevent a court challenge would could have held up and/or invalidated the whole thing.

I’m guessing that last 60 cents was the tip.

Not sure that’s an Apples to Apples comparison.  The Prius is a much smaller car (2900lbs vs 3500lbs).  Also Honda >> Chevy (in general).

That’s dumb. Locomotives have been doing the engine drives generator since the 1920s!

Uh, isn’t that the premise of ALL hybrids?

Why the hell would you want a diesel in something like this?

Not sure that’s going to work. A lot of people don’t know their ancestry and those that have traced their family are likely to have a result like mine. We’re mutts. My kids have (at least) Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German, Austrian, English, Scottish, French, Spanish, Mexican & Australian in their ancestry. So, which

That may be the official price, but I’ll bet nobody walks out with one for less than 6 figures.

Seems like they could just get a private teacher at that income level.

Yeah, only that’s exactly what I want to do.  Only without waking the neighbor’s baby up.

Hey, glad it’s helpful to those hypothetical people, it’s not to me, my fob is in my pocket. I’d like to be able to turn this “feature” off (for good).

a) To run the defrosters while I clean off the rest of the snow.

Regardless of whose idea it was, it is damn annoying.  And what freaking purpose does it serve?  (besides making my neighbors hate me)  The only way for it not to happen is to take the fob out of my pocket and leave it in the truck.  Massively counterproductive.

OMG, yes. If I get out of my truck with it running it honks that damn horn at me twice. And also the alarm button on my keyfob is too damn easy to press, sometimes I set it off just sitting down with it in my pocket. My nextdoor neighbors surely hate it as much or more than I do. STFU stupid truck!

I mostly agree with you, but when our kids were little I still disabled the power tools in my shop when I wasn’t using them. Kid’s brains don’t work right and it only takes a second for tragedy. A few seconds to re-enable the table saw when I need to use it is really no price at all.

I bought the truck for camping and trips to the lumberyards (we have an old house, so so many trips Lowe’s offered me a commercial account!). And you never know what your average (sub)urbanite is going to drag around. In this case, the college glassblowing club needed to move their furnace, and I was happy to be able

Yeah, it’s ~8000lbs and the trailer is another ~5000lbs (it’s um, sturdy) which puts the pair just under this truck’s tow rating.

Try this with your sedan and puny trailer at your own peril:
