I hear you. My ‘98 F-150 was doing great until one year the city couldn’t get the good ice melt and just put down rock salt. That one winter totally destroyed it. (and my fleet average age when replaced :)

I don’t get the complaints about the 10speed AT — mine is smooth and silent — with the display turned off i’d have no idea when it shifted or what gear it was in.

I stand corrected in owning half these songs. I had looked through the 1st 100 or so and assumed the pattern would continue. So I’ve had MP3's that I paid for once (probably on CD and ripped in the early days) and have listened to whenever I want for free ever since for 22 years. And I went from ~10 songs on that Rio to ~10,000 songs…

The I4 and V6 Broncos will definitely get better than 22 mpg highway, a 3.5L F-150 4x4 SuperCrew can get 20.

At least on my truck, you can only manually downshift below about ~3300 rpms (lest you overspeed in the next lower gear). That’s probably a bit conservative, but not many (sane) people are tracking SuperCrews anyway.

You could skip a gear with a manual, or shift into a gear at an unsafe RPM, but I’m not sure how useful either of those are. The AT in manual mode is “press up and you go up one gear”, “press down and you go down one gear”. The only time it will shift on its own accord in manual mode is coming to a stop, when it will…
