At least on my truck, you can only manually downshift below about ~3300 rpms (lest you overspeed in the next lower gear). That’s probably a bit conservative, but not many (sane) people are tracking SuperCrews anyway.

You could skip a gear with a manual, or shift into a gear at an unsafe RPM, but I’m not sure how useful either of those are.
