I agree, it’s no reason to KILL someone, but the rider admitted he performed an illegal action (lane split), and got in front of someone (cut someone off), and then when the car tried to retaliate (which was WRONG), he HIT the car’s mirror (a safety device) and took off. Wow. Talk about idiots finding each other.

So many ways to avoid going into oncoming traffic, including pulling into one of the many parking lots and turning around. Going at those speeds in the wrong direction was a recipe for disaster.

I’m not sure if/how the patent release effects their ability to charge for the access, but it doesn’t matter—they already won. The first time someone takes their 2020 Chevy BoltVoltJolt to a Tesla station to recharge, they’ve won. Imagine how dumb Ford would look if you had to pull into a Honda dealer every 200 miles…

I’m sure that is part of the long term plan. Eventually other car companies will have to build supercharger compatible cars if they want to sell them because Tesla will have the only network of fast chargers in the world.
