Everytime someone says “simple” it can be prety much guaranteed it is going to be a huge PITA, and expensive.

Aside from the reinforced backbone, you’ll need to raise the rockers, to have some side impact protection, that could also be CFRP, you’ll need to link your backbone to this, essentially creating a tub.

So, yeah, I’m sort of torn. I think this could be a cool, easy mod for a roadster, but it could also be a shoddy way to introduce all kinds of wind noise and leaks for no good reason.
