That’s one reason that if I ever bought a minivan, it’d be the Pacifica Hybrid.

0-60 is 7.8 seconds. Anyone having enough kids to need a van drove something slower in High School. Where is this a shit show?
I really don’t get the hate in this article. You can drop boatloads of money on a black-on-black Tahoe and it’s just being luxurious, but shame on you for wanting to drop an extra $600 on a minivan so that it’s aesthetically pleasing. Personally, I like the idea that they’re trying to give the thing some character. I…
Iacocca is a helluva drug!
I’d take this over a crossover any day.
Laugh all you want, but for those of us with kids, its very welcome. I will say we spent a week recently in a Pacifica Limited while on vacation. It might have been the fanciest vehicle I’ve ever been in, and drove a million times better than the old Town & country and Lumina APVs I was used to growing up. I still…
I don’t think it’s that simple. There are a lot of specific size, performance and durability requirements for the postal service truck.
The problem is maintenance. If they have every random vehicle in the world, there is no way to standardize training and keep everything consistently maintained.
It would be one of dumbest things if the new mail truck is NOT EV. Predictable, repeating routes that can be addressed with right-size battery configuration. Low speed/high torque operation. The constant start-stop where regen brakes saves mechanical brake life and recaptures the energy. Set spots to park/charge every…
Interesting. It seems like these would be built to deliver mail on SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!
Right? I’m sitting over here like... “yeah, that’s called setting up a factory.” I don’t do anything nearly as complicated as a full automobile and I’m still completely unsurprised by anything I’ve read. Worst that can be said is that Tesla/Musk underestimated the timeline, but the process itself seems pretty normal.
As an OEM on my 5th car launch... this is how it starts. A new body line is ambitious and tuning and optimization is often done months into start of production.
According to the Padolvians I know, it’ll get to 120 benths in about 8 mentiks.
The Chevy Volt/Cadillac ELR is even better, being actually decently fast for a “regular car” and having a much longer battery-only range than the C-Max.
How is it that Wes Anderson hasn’t put this in a movie? It’s a Wes Anderson character, in automotive form.
I love how the wiper is trying to escape the car. In neutral, it’s trying to vibrate itself off the window. Over bumps, it’s trying to jump and commit suicide.
The windshield wiper almost never makes contact with the windshield while the car is running. I love this car.
