This. Fortunately I’m tall enough to mostly be over the heads of most of the drones holding up phones, but this irritates me too. I’m not 100% against people getting video if the band and venue don’t mind, but scooch to the side or something? Blocking other people who came for an experience is a dick move.

Sunshine all the time. :)

In theory, me too, though I still don’t quite trust autonomous vehicles yet, and probably won’t as long as there’s no means of override and driving in a normal fashion in case of emergency. Even if I never end up using them, I need a steering wheel and pedals and the ability to drive in a pinch.

Yep, and it should be easier for all of us.

As loathe as I am to admit it, many drivers on the road these days make a strong case for autonomous vehicles.

The hitch is finding where that fine line is, and seeing to it that it isn’t crossed. That’s not so easy.

Sell them. I have no idea what those things cost, but dinner out is probably more useful than they are.

I agree, but I still don’t want my data monitored. And I say that as someone who was injured in an accident that totaled my favorite car when a 60ish-year-old-woman who was texting and driving blew through a red light doing 50+ in a 35 and t-boned us- her airbag pinned her hand, phone still in it, to her face. Asshole

This is why, in grumpy old curmudgeon style, I refuse to buy or use any of that shit. The internet of things can go fuck itself. I don’t want or need any “smart features” on a tv or fridge or whatever, and Amazon can eat a Costco-sized bag o’ dicks, Alexa and all.

Sure, but what happens when a passenger is using your phone?

I’m not in the market for one at all, but I kinda want the paint code. That’s a lovely color.

I dunno. I kinda liked the idea of Smart, and I am not a big car kinda guy, but those things are just TOO damned small to be useful to me most of the time. If I can’t fit a weeks’ groceries in it, nope.

3rd:

Glad you made it back safely!

It’s almost as though huge parts of this whole business model are unrealistic!

This.

Wonder how that’s going?

Take your star.

...or they’re here or livestock. Ever seen Bad Taste?

I think a lot of older folks liked the xB for the ease of getting in and out, and for the visibility in the driver’s seat. That definitely is a thing. They were also really easy to mod for handicapped accessibility at relatively low cost- my first xB was purchased from an older couple who had replaced it with another
