Maybe most people shouldn’t be on the road at this point.

Yep. It’s lame enough without it being disastrous for basically all life, but seems especially stupid these days.
Examples? I don’t doubt it, but it seems like they’re doing a pretty shit job so far.
Yep. Dumb, and destructive in the long run, but hey- shareholders, amirite?
Sure, but alongside that, it would seem to make sense to also get ahead of the curve when your assets are finite? Sounds like Shell has the right idea.
This. I really don’t need or want a screen in my car, other than maybe a backup camera. I don’t need or want to be advertised to any more (in fact a lot less) than I already am.
In any case, ICE as it is just isn’t sustainable forever. The sooner we all accept that, the better off we’ll be.
Yep. I mean, I already had near-zero interest in owning a Nissan, and now I reeeeeeally don’t want one, and ultimately have no real strong opinion about Ghosn one way or the other.
“You make it seem like people (Americans) are stupid for not understanding the shift toward EVs, like they’re resisting change. It’s probably broader than your short list of reasons.”
I’d take a hybrid version. Seriously, Toyota, take my money. Please.
This idea needs to be revisited. I still love my ‘05 xB, and after I drive our Lexus, all I really miss are the fancypants touches like (a lot) less road noise and heated seats in the winter. Toyota really fucked up discontinuing the OG xB here, or at least not following it up with the Tank/Rooomy/Thor/Whatever in the…
Some of us also like, y’know, paying artists for their work by buying it directly from them, have actual physical copies of things, etc...
Holy shit!
GOT jumped the shark after season 5. I just kinda want it to be over and for GRRM to get on with the books already.
I started doing this on my own last year- I keep a register app on my phone and ledger everything as though I wrote a check, and round it up to the next buck. Adds up pretty quick!
I don’t have this problem with cars, but musical equipment...oof. Over the course of my adult life, I found a few ways to get around some of it. The first was working in a mostly vintage-and-used guitar/hi-fi store in my early adulthood that had a small demo studio. I got stuff at cost, sometimes for free, always had…
When I saw this, my first thought was ‘not Baldessari’s best work’, then I realized those dots were probably there to cover a tag.
I do this occasionally, but increasingly often the last couple of years. I prefer to do it myself, but sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. The dude that does it when I can’t appreciates the business. There are worse things to spend a little on.
The more I get sucked into this story, the more inclined I am to agree. It’s hard telling, but my guess is that Ghosn was probably doing what a lot of high-level exec types do, but probably should have known better, and is having it used against him by people who are just as dirty.
I largely agree- the nice people are super nice, but I have to say, the assholes are exceptionally assholish. Fortunately, they’re the minority.
