Agreed, but to be fair KC has several places that are kinda clusterfucky for a variety of reasons, and other spots that are (relative to a lot of other cities) not bad at all.

The folks cheering kinda made my afternoon. Epic.

This just reminded me- I happened across youtube of Kozelek playing “Mistress” with the Roots as the backing band, and it was fucking amazing.

I was about to type “WANT”, but after seeing that last photo of G&T tanks, “NEED” might be more apropos. And I’m not really even much of a Jeep guy.

That video just made my day.

For sure, but house shopping is another kettle of fish. Biggest pain in the ass I’ve ever gone through.

Probably not a bad idea.

This may be outdated info now, but my understanding as of 6ish years ago (when I was buying my house) is that, as long as it’s the same type of inquiry (ie, for a mortgage, or a car loan, but not both) it counts as one inquiry regardless of how many within a 30 day window.

Here’s a star just for mentioning the Mellotron.

Between this and breakfast burrito day/casual Friday at the office, this morning is shaping up well now. Stoked to see the finished product, y’know, actually work!

If that toy piano is so brutally out of tune, you can still get one made by the longstanding powerhouse of toy-piano manufacture, Schoenhut. They made most of the toy pianos most of us know from 20th-century childhood, still make them, have parts for them, and even make professional versions. https://schoenhut.com/

Dude- I’m happy for you that your roof and solar only cost $35.5Kish. That’s not what the costs are in my house. Not even close. I can get an asphalt roof for that and have a little left over, but not anywhere near enough for a solar installation that would meet anywhere near 100% of our power consumption as well.

I have to concede that I’m assuming the roof will perform at least reasonably close to what Tesla claims it will.

For once I agree with you- I’m pretty squarely Gen X and I kinda dig this, too. Not for just south of $30K, but...yeah. Part of me reeeeeeally wants this.  Not enough to buy it though.

This. Otherwise, I’m sure he’ll do fine.

I suppose at the very least, your lawn might smell 46% more delicious after mowing?

Hit me up when you’re close! Sounds good.

I live in the KC area as well. I have a shitty sloped driveway and a few tools, but coffee, moral support, and a buddy with a shop and tools I could persuade to help in a pinch. Hit me up if you need to. This whole thing is fucking crazy, but I’m rooting for ya.

Not a bad idea...

I’m no Tesla fanboy by any means. We looked into solar options for our house (and ran into a few snags because of ‘historic district’ zoning crap) exhaustively, including the Tesla roof. It was nowhere near 10 times what an asphalt roof AND PV panels cost. It worked out to somewhere between 1.5 and 1.7ish times the
