So I want to say, if they make the Buzz even close to the concept version, take my money...then I think about all of the problems my brother’s new Beetle has as it sits collecting snow in my driveway and hesitate. I’m cautiously optimistic. And not ready to give up my xB yet anyway.

This. My old xB is pretty much econobox, and I much prefer it to an F-anything. It does everything I need it to 99% of the time, and I rather like it.

Thanks!

Ha! I was three Teles deep until fairly recently. I hung on to the ‘76 I’ve had for ...eesh, 20 years now...but sold the other two. Once this build is done, I’ll have the basic Fender food groups covered pretty well. Tele, Strat, Jag, soon a Jazzmaster, a Musicmaster and a Bass VI. Sometimes I can’t belive how much

I’m on an offset kick right now. I built a Jaguar last year with a Musicmaster neck on an MJT body, with Curtis Novak pickups wired like the Johnny Marr model, and hardware from a Troy Van Leeuwen signature Jazzmaster.

They’re really, really good. On par with any CS Fender I’ve played and competitively priced. I’m eagerly awaiting the Descendant Jag/Jazzmaster-style vibrato tailpiece Chris has coming out.

Dude...yes. Trussarts rule. I played one in London in like 2006ish and it was the first and only time I considered parting with my main Tele to get something else. I have a friendly internet acquaintance who plays a Trussart often who hepped me to them. Actually, he’s also played with Waits a lot himself.

Then there’s this. This record is great all the way through. My now-ex-wife and I saw JH at a small club around the time this came out, his impersonation when telling stories of Waits was hilarious and spot-on.

Judah’s brown Fender concert tremolo kills me on this.

I wish Tom Waits would put an album out and tour again. I feel really fortunate to have seen him on the last two proper tours, but sheesh- Glitter and Doom was like 11 years ago now.

YES. Although I hafta say, the solo on “Cold Water” is my favorite ever, even above “Sympathy for the Devil” which is a close second. I felt like hot shit when I could play that one and have it (mostly) sound like him.

Ronnie Wood has been using a guitar made by my pal Chris lately, and while that has nothing to do with anything, every time I see/hear about Ron Wood, I think it’s awesome that he’s using an instrument built by a dude I know.

It just made my day to see a mention of Ribot on Jalopnik.

Can I just groan about the every gear today? Ugh.

Forget Nissan and find a good, clean first gen Scion xB, pocket the change for maintenance, and thank me later.

Dude...yes. Right now, a hovercraft would rule so hard for this very reason.

Yep. I just shuddered a little when you mentioned about the weekend supply requisition trips in a car I don’t own. It IS a big enough PITA already.

3rd: Good for Detroit. Anything that helps the economy of a city that has a surprisingly awesome arts and music culture going on is good as far as I can tell.

This. It’s just too convenient for halfassed keeping up with people on multiple continents.
