Let’s hear it for ranked choice voting, which while confusing if you haven’t dealt with it before, actually helps elect the candidates with the broadest support across the entire electorate. It essentially lets you say: I like Candidate A, but if I can’t have him/her, I would prefer candidate B, and have that

Yes, I thought it was obvious that Alicent is meant to be at least a few years older than Rhaenyra, even on the show.

The Hillary piano sequence felt like they were trying to make up for the fact that they let Trump host the damn show less than a year earlier. And that they led off that episode with a sketch where Trump had been elected President and America had become a utopia as a result.

Yeah, most people on the left feel exactly the same as Rob does in regards to this specific thing.

I mean, Rob Schneider sucks, but he’s not wrong in this instance. That was a really embarrassing/cringey moment for a comedy show.

The whole term “malaise era” was invented on Jalopnik by Murilee Martin. Does that make it “historical”? I think not.

This is also from 1986:

I feel for her because she seems genuinely nice. It’s just that the show has a really bad name and kinda crappy premise—a vegan cooking competition where chefs cater to pain-in-the-ass picky eaters.

Honestly, the show was doomed the moment they named it It’s CompliPlated. That is quite possibly the worst name for a TV show ever. You can’t say that title and not sound like you’re falling down drunk.

honestly I think it would make a lot of sense for Jeep to offer IFS on the regular Wrangler and SFA on the Rubicon, but I am blissfully ignorant of the costs and regulatory nightmares such a setup would involve

You’re bugging. Hip hop is New York inner city music, and the black and Puerto Rican community knocked down the barriers between those communities in the 1970s. (Especially Bronx) NYC Puerto Ricans have more of a claim to hip hop that anyone of any color from any other city. Period.

There seems to be a lot of people using rap and hip hop interchangeably. Breakbeat was the first hip-hop. Rapping over it came naturally. But the boom bip, the quintessential drumbeat of hip-hop, is a clave, used both in afro-carribean and Spanish cultures for thousands of years. There were Black, Asian, Latino, and

Fat Joe said to the contribution of Hip Hop (MCs, B-Boys/B-Girls, Graffiti and DJing), not just rap. Latino contribution to dance and graffiti is unquestionable. That’s already 50% of what is known. Honestly, too often the other elements of Hip Hop get ignored (as rap being the most marketable aspect), and then we’re

Latinos, mostly Puerto Ricans, can absolutely claim equal (or nearly) ownership of “hip hop,” but if you just focus on the rapping part, sure, that was always overwhelmingly black.

Exactly! Everyone (yeah, yeah, nearly) freaks out about every threat. Humans are notoriously bad at accessing risk. Especially when presented with only the “Sky is falling!” side of things.

Hang on hang on HANG ON.

It was the first #1 though. I never liked the rap part. Seemed slapped on. Hella cool song otherwise.

“Thank you Thank you Thank you for your contribution to HIP HOP.”
