Carlin was an old school first amendment dude who would’ve defended to the death Chappelle’s right to say what he wants. I’d imagine he’d also be highly critical of many of Chappelle’s recent bits.

As far as comedians are concerned, you either die a hero: Carlin, Pryor, Kaufman, or live long enough to become the villain: Cosby, Barr, and now Chapelle.
