Sunk cost fallacy?

Of course there are nice and not nice examples of every breed but the nastiest dogs I’ve encountered have been poodles or poodle mixes. The only dog I’ve ever been bitten by was a poodle (in my own house). The only dog I’ve seen bite their owner (repeatedly) was a poodle. Smart, yes, but I wouldn’t categorize them as

sweet dogs with great dispositions

Also a pet peeve of mine in general. I get that she’s attempting to make a broader point but I think that anyone complaining about who didn’t make an all-star team or get nominated for whatever must also say who shouldn’t have been (I’m not saying there aren’t almost always valid arguments but make them).

This is incredible. I give both parents so much credit for running directly into the correct but difficult decision to take this on as public figures. I continue to be impressed by Wade—I would usually paraphrase Chris Rock and say that you don’t get a cookie for doing what you’re supposed to do as a parent but he

I’ve wondered about him for years and periodically check to make sure I haven’t missed anything. There’s no way I’m going to a concert but those mixes were are great for the gym.

Usually only when there are 3+ people in the car and it’s a necessity. This has changed somewhat over time as the ride“sharing” turned into taxi 2.0. Lyft, in particular, used to push the “it’s a friend picking you up” concept in their early days and encouraged drivers and riders to have solo passengers ride shotgun

When I was in elementary school in the early 80s before the foam cushioning days, our school playground was was one of the first to be rebuilt using the prior trend in ground cover: ground up tires. Of course, it smelled and outgassed like ground up tires, and they had to replace the entire thing years later once

I’m not likely to ever buy a Ford (nor a Jeep, for that matter) but I am excited for the new Broncos. I hope their feature and design innovations pushes Toyota to introduce some more variety into their off-road lineup. Like maybe some different configurations of the 4Runner or, more likely, a replacement for the FJ

I hate to say it because I don’t think someone in LeBron’s position of influence necessarily should nor should they be held to some unreasonable standard in order to express an opinion (and he’s been on the right side of many issues—“U bum” will go down in history) but, at this point, yeah,...maybe he should. It seems

Misogynoir + Kobe stans =

I named one specific element that I use as it related to the example given and I don’t use it in the way that you characterized. I employ many automated functions through Alexa and Zigbee that are triggered by time or motion or another event. Everything you listed now is possible. Not all of it is simple though some

Obligatory:

I didn’t. And it isn’t. I have many flavors of automated lights (bulbs, switches, plugs) that all work pretty seamlessly with Echo (hub). This includes Phillips bulbs. I can’t control colors or maybe do some other complex programming which maybe some people out there want but that doesn’t mean the capabilities

Let me get this straight, they easily do all of these very useful things—including working seamlessly with the “better” technology that preceded them—but you have to use a dedicated app to get the full functionality out of certain light bulbs so “all the smart home platforms suck?” Got it.
