So here’s a rule to follow everyone: If someone offends a group of which you are not a part of, it is not up to you to decide when people should get over it or accept the apology.

You might want to hold off on that civics lesson, because hate speech absolutely is, to a large extent, protected by the First Amendment, at least as it has been interpreted over the last 70 years or so.
I think you’re (intentionally) misunderstanding what this article is actually saying.
Dumb white folks contine trying to make everything about them and news at 11.
This kind of behavior reminds me of the high school/early college drama hounds: “That girl who died, I had lunch with her once, so I am really traumatized and we should talk about how terrible this is for me!”
REMEMBER
White women continuing to promote white feminism.
“You are literally the person in the photo.”
“Welcome to the Department of Justice!”
She’s most definitely not in love with Jorah but he’s in love with her.
The Root and Jezebel openly fighting with each other about social justice issues.
If you consider yourself an ally and this kind of talk offends you or if you find it dismissive of your allegiance, you’re part of the problem. If you know you’re an ally, then you should be able to just keep calm and carry on.
Complaining about POC hurting your feelings because they made a statement about white people that didn’t specifically exclude you because you’re an “ally” doesn’t make you much of an ally, and honestly if that’s what you’re gonna do then we don’t want your allyship. White people are gonna need to be tougher than that…
Throwing allies under the bus
Honestly, this is the type of shit the beats me down even more than white supremacist being emboldened by a sentient burnt orange Crayola crayon.
Honestly, at this point African American has become a coded word for racists.
I’m mostly annoyed by how inaccurate it is. Just like, with obvious basic facts. No, Black people who were born in other countries and don’t speak English are not African fucking American. Black does not automatically equal African American. How hard is that to understand?
Variations of these get all-capped to me pretty frequently:
1. We shouldn’t be judged by the color of our skin, but the content of our character!
2. MLK would be rolling in his grave right now.
3. Racism doesn’t mean anything when you people say it all the time.
