I don't think the buyer was part of the scam, but he was definitely knew it was a scam and was trying to benefit from it. Anyone in the market for these knows the market for these and $75k is super sketchy. I wonder if he was hoping the dealer would do the same checks as he did and he would make some extra money. 

I still don’t get it. If you have to constantly nanny it - be ready to jump in - why not just drive? Driving is easier than this.
