GIGACASTING is "the future of manufacturing" and it's basically diametrically opposed to modularity. But the manufacturers are on board because it's also diametrically opposed to maintainability and thus longevity, and if there's one thing car manufacturers have decided, it's that this whole cars-lasting-20-years

I don’t think there is anything particularly special about the CT’s platform compared to other EVs. It doesn’t seem to have proper offroad chops and lacks the utility of a conventional pickup. Best case scenario, you could develop a nice 3-row mall crawler that can handle some very mild offroading akin to a Tahoe.

Yeah, completely different message there.

That’s not fair, the Weiner Mobile might be the coolest vehicle ever made.

Even a Weinermobile would be cooler than what’s on there now.

all anyone can do to fight it is not watch the videos

Ah, like most things, the issue is so clear and easily solved (ban monetization of videos like these) but for some reason (greed) we’d rather just let these idiots get wealthy by dangerously disobeying agreed upon laws and norms.

A billionaire setting a social media network he literally owns on a random college student — and then going “I didn’t do anything!” like a Goddamn child. You couldn’t make a movie out of this because it would be too unrealistic and over-the-top.

“if you’re suggesting that in order to reply to anyone, you have to scroll through all their posts, that would make it impossible to use the system.”

I do not guide my posts by what is financially beneficial but what I believe is interesting or important or entertaining to the public.

If only he would get to the “recluse” stage of crazy rich guy.

TSLA is in a weird place. Even with all the drops in price, it has a PE ratio of over 38. This means, the company is worth 38 times what it earns. Other car manufacturers are between 6 and 15.

They should be GLAD he’s splitting his time between other companies. Imagine what a shitshow Tesla would be if he focused 100% of his ineptitude there; they’d be selling 2-dimensional, 3 wheeled utes with no manual controls and made from transparent aluminum.

Leave it to Elon to make me side with shareholders, forget quarterly numbers, they just need Elon not to shipwreck Tesla on the rocks now.

I think these are were the quickest cars to ever get destroyed by their owners. They are up there with 240SX’s, 350Z and Neon SRT-4's

I think the problem, fundamentally, is that these cars are already built and have to be moved off the lot if he wants to start selling newer model year cars, which is critical in the automotive industry. A seller of commodity items like Dickey blue jeans or self-tapping screws can continue to sell years old inventory

That’s sort of where I am. Not in a market for a Car, but the Y checks boxes others don’t.  Price, Performance, Range, Charging network.   It’s sort of impossible to ignore.
