His net worth is essentially his stock in Amazon. He doesn’t actually have access to nearly that amount of money. If he were to liquidate his entire position in Amazon it would have drastic effects.
I take it to mean if the liquidated all his assets, sold everything he had, he would be worth $163 billion. Some of that money is tied up in property, stock shares, and rich things I’ve probably never heard of.
I’ve always been a bit curious on this. When someone’s net worth is boiled down to a number, is that like money they have on hand to spend right now or is it broken down into stock investments, money in their respective company, etc.
You are living under a bridge. The only thing you have to eat is whatever you can fish out of garbage dumpsters. Every day bigger, stronger homeless people come by your soggy cardboard lean-to and try to take what little you have by threat of force.
Hard to compare numbers when population size has never been bigger, you need to learn percentages.
Capitalism isn’t a Law of Thermodynamics, proven to achieve the exact same result every single time. Nor does it succeed or fail in a vacuum, but in concert (or conflict) with other societal instittutions or dynamics.
Took the cake. And ate it too.
Capitalism is also the driving force behind climate change, which has the potential to kill millions of people and has already been cited as one of the major factors in one of the most destructive wars of our times, The Syrian Civil War.
Global capitalism and Democrats invented slavery
Define “poverty.”
Before capitalism, mercantilism could make the same claim. There is always a better way of doing things.
- Mr Musk says something stupid on Twitter
Cool, so that decision hasn’t actually been made, but he announced it to the world like it was.
There is a 0% chance Tesla beats Amazon, Microsoft, or Alphabet to the trillion dollar club. But, judging by the rest of your comment, at least there seems to be an excellent drug stockpile in the future.
The ‘when’ is usually 10% ownership. Since Musk holds about 20%, he may be walking a dangerous line, if he doesn’t have a concrete offer.
Herp de derp - just because that’s true doesn’t mean it can’t be improved or can’t be corrupted. her-de-derp-de-do.
He’d better have that financing available or he’s going to jail for stock manipulation.
That’s what you get with a tech company that tries to build a car.
Why in the world do you need an electrically opened glove box....that’s beyond useless.
