I bet the cops only acted because they felt like they had to. They must have presented the cops with enough actionable info that they would have been negligent if they ignored it.

I have literally never seen an AMBER alert issued for a black kid in my life.

I’m surprised the police even did anything in this case. Even after others did all the legwork for them, I figured they’d just let this one go until everyone but the family forgot about it.

The fact that the family had to work to investigate Quawan’s apparent murder while still mourning his death because the police wouldn’t, and then getting a suspect after the police didn’t bother is heartbreaking. I wish it hadn’t been necessary for them to have that kind of strength.
