It’s $300 to be a beta tester for a mid-tier phone with a mediocre camera.
Lower Decks is at least written by people who seem to know about, care about, and like Star Trek. I can’t say the same for Discovery or Picard.
What no leisure suit Larry?
I would agree that the bar is set low, but they still could have screwed it up. Some writers/showrunners like to take a lot of liberty with a show’s source material to push their own story/agenda which a majority of the time leads to a butchered end product (looking at you Witcher).
Fine, lets redraw all the maps of the Outer Rim and then we can find and crush the rebellion once and for all.
You might find it interesting that in the original series the uniforms had embroidered Star Fleet insignias. Crew would carry communicators that looked a lot like flip phones. Star Trek Next Generation introduced the combadge.
Have you watched it recently?
Everything else aside, by FAR my biggest problem is P. Stew’s apparent decision to play Picard absolutely NOTHING like the guy he played for 8 seasons and 4 movies.
First Contact was okay, especially in comparison to the other TNG movies but it really takes what was largely an ensemble show and makes it all about Picard/Data in a plot that largely abandons any actual character development that occurred over the series. It’s fine if it’s divorced from the rest of it, but it’s the…
For a long TV episode that was released in cinemas... sure.
Now that we’ve found the galaxy’s edge, further research should demonstrate the existence of intergalactic cats pushing things off it.
Woah, now. First Contact was good.
The Next Generation cast *did* get a proper sendoff, when the series originally ended. Then they made horrible movies until Nemesis bombed, which is why the characters’ storylines ended abruptly.
And I’m still gonna watch this season like a damn fool. Telling myself “maybe it’ll go out on a high note” but knowing it will be just as much of a mess as the first 2 seasons.
The way “Picard” has shit all over the memory of “TNG” is crimminal. Please, please let this be the end of skull-fucking the legacy branch of the franchise. If these idiots go anywhere near “Deep Space Nine” I may just lose it (yes, I heard the cartoon went there, I can live with that).
Galaxies: They have suburbs and exurbs, too!
Seriously. They should be discussing the miracle of them getting a second season, never mind a third.
Oh, was there a reason besides it being disastrous garbage?
