Yes to Myst!

Lower Decks is at least written by people who seem to know about, care about, and like Star Trek.  I can’t say the same for Discovery or Picard.

What no leisure suit Larry?

Much like the last season of Game of Thrones, what makes Picard the TV show that much more heartbreaking are the tiny glimpses of excellence within the absolute pile of garbage. Both Data and Q’s send-offs, in themselves, are beautiful moments, and there are excellent moments as well for a lot of the individual

a proper send-off, something his Next Generation version never got

Have you watched it recently?

Everything else aside, by FAR my biggest problem is P. Stew’s apparent decision to play Picard absolutely NOTHING like the guy he played for 8 seasons and 4 movies.

Season 2 was horrible on so many levels, but what pains me is all those great actors are giving it their best with some canon-killing disasters, and that might be all they are remembered by with Trek fans.

First Contact was okay, especially in comparison to the other TNG movies but it really takes what was largely an ensemble show and makes it all about Picard/Data in a plot that largely abandons any actual character development that occurred over the series. It’s fine if it’s divorced from the rest of it, but it’s the

For a long TV episode that was released in cinemas... sure.

Keep going as long as the quality is maintained? Season 1 was meh. Season 2 was best forgotten. Season 3 is being sold as great, so let’s lower our expectations because it’s the last season.

Picard has moments of brilliance weighted down by the horribly paced plot and by some new/ old characters that could have gone the distance.

Woah, now. First Contact was good.

The Next Generation cast *did* get a proper sendoff, when the series originally ended. Then they made horrible movies until Nemesis bombed, which is why the characters’ storylines ended abruptly.

And I’m still gonna watch this season like a damn fool. Telling myself “maybe it’ll go out on a high note” but knowing it will be just as much of a mess as the first 2 seasons.

The way “Picard” has shit all over the memory of “TNG” is crimminal. Please, please let this be the end of skull-fucking the legacy branch of the franchise. If these idiots go anywhere near “Deep Space Nine” I may just lose it (yes, I heard the cartoon went there, I can live with that).

Seriously. They should be discussing the miracle of them getting a second season, never mind a third.

Oh, was there a reason besides it being disastrous garbage?

I was just thinking isn’t it sad that an anti war demonstration is considered controversial?

Being anti-war has always been controversial. Just try expressing any sort of reservation about America’s invovlement in Ukraine. Even in supposedly left-wing spaces, you’ll immediately get bombarded with accusation of being a Russian bot.
