I’m sure I read somewhere that device manufacturers learned the lessons in this article years ago and so since have been making devices that don’t charge batteries to 100% anyway. Basically it may say 100% charge, but it’s actually more like 90%.

Gaming laptops perform better being plugged in because graphics cards (at least) need extra/dedicated power to run at peak performance.
