YES

Black Hawk Down is another movie of his that I thought was fine, even good, but I have never felt compelled to watch again (although I probably enjoyed more than Gladiator too, actually). I'll catch it on TV but that's about it. And yes, I also agree about T&L actually, mea culpa for not including it in my original

Meaney!

Don't get me wrong, Alien and Blade Runner are legitimately top 20 of all time for me (several times a week, BR is my favourite movie ever) but they haven't half skewed the public perception of him. Jesus, the man made A Good Year, Robin Hood, White Squall, 1492…

Ridley Scott is… A bit shit, really, isn't he? I mean, yeah, two absolutely unimpeachable classics (Alien and Blade Runner, of course), but on a film-by-film basis, Tony was definitely the more fun filmmaker. This looks like hot garbage.

God damn. I'll check it out, thanks!

There's a new Busdriver record? Whaaaat!?

I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE IN THE ONLY WORLD!

There's no way that True Detective won't be in the top 10, probably top 5, and yet Louie and Adventure Time are languishing in the lower reaches. That's a shame, because True Detective blundered the ending in a way that means I'll rarely think about it again, more or less, whereas Louie and AT regularly approach

I cannot get over how perfect that song is. Fuck. It's finally on YouTube so I think I'll share it every day for as long as the dumb… cops… get what they want.

I'm sort of at the stage now where I really dig all variations on his voice and yeah I like them lots on Been Passed On when he gets throaty. I just don't like how everything comes together at the start but the second verse is where it works for me.

They're really a band that either hits you square in the chest or does nothing, I find.

Hands down, my band of the year. Duets isn't my favourite release of theirs (I'd place it third, after the astonishing Scotland 7" and Try Me, my album of the year) but it's just as fascinating as anything else they put out.

Upvoted for discussion about SDF but I think Been Passed On is the weakest track, at least until Caroline comes in. The climax of Cancel Man, like David says, is approaching goosebumps-inducing great, and then it just ENDS. And that's such an SDF thing.

This was the initially floated title for the sequel - I was gutted they didn't keep it.

What do you call a Spanish horror director who doesn't belong to you?

HE WANTS TO TASTE THE CURB

That was the line I was going to go with initially but it's so overtly absurd I didn't think it'd help. But what a line! The one that always sticks out as really dark is "I have weird memories of you / pissing in a sink, I think".

It should be telling that I accused neither of ripping off the other, because ACTUALLY you'll find that it's an ontological paradox. And you accuse MY mind of being puny…

Holy shit, I just realised that The Inner Light and the Adventure Time episode Puhoy are basically the same.
