Indeed, being bought out of bankruptcy to satisfy creditors is often the result of not being willing to sell out.

It's been years since I used and of their products, but I loved the brown sugar scrub. I just hate going to home parties. You always feel obliged to buy even if you don't want anything.

What are the benefits of being engaged, exactly, if there is no wedding or formal title?

Well I'm glad someone finally recognized Halloween for what it is, yet another socialist reuse concocted to trick hard working rich people in to helping the less fortunate. I've been onto that scam for years which is why instead of handing out candy I hand out pamphlets carefully explaining to the children that they

But it just bugs me, because we already pay more than enough taxes toward actual social services.

I don't think he considers me an object (which is why we're still together) but I did feel like I was being treated as one if I said I didn't want to have my hand rubbed for fifteen minutes straight and he replied 'but I like touching you.'

"Her dreams are epic theatrical explorations of psyche with casts of dozens."

Sober enough to take pictures and record the rape, and put a towel over the security camera when they moved her, but too drunk to understand what he was taking pictures of and recording and why he was trying to cover up their actions? It's not just a bad argument, it's literally nonsensical.

It's a helpful rejoinder to the "Ah've learned from mah mistakes, y'all" redemption narrative she's been pushing lately.

It's called playing to an audience. The whole cottage industry was kickstarted (back in the 1700's) by wives writing for each other. Same old, in reality? A mom who does 100% of an average 19 hour home labor day makes about 150,000/year in 2012 dollars if it were totally outsourced. Compared to a non-OECD

... Not exactly. While DILFs tend to be sexy because they are nurturers, MILFs are sexy in spite of it. That's because a MILF is a woman who doesn't look "like a mother," but who happens to have kids. In other words, she manages to look more like someone who takes care of herself than someone who takes care of others.

but in reality, our husbands see us as sexy (when mothering), even when we're in our fluffiest pajamas

Thanks? Wait, who are you? And who is this guy? Does this impact me in any sort of way?

That is absolutely true and a clear weakness of this approach. Generally speaking though, I'm glad men are asking women rather than other clueless men about women. And I'd hope that in general the diverse answers would emphasize that women are not a monolith.

Good article, Kara. Also, let's look at this impressive (nauseating) piece of academic jargon: "To call someone "basic" is to look into the abyss of continually flattening capitalist dystopia and, instead of articulating and interrogating the fear, transform it into casual misogyny."
