Ok, Ian... this is pretty insignificant due to the details of SFV. Basically, once you hit 1hp in SFV, you can’t be chipped out by any special move in the game. The only way you can kill someone on the defensive (chipping out) is to use a Critical Art (the super) or hit them clean. There is NO in-between with SFV
