Um.
Um.
If he dumped it he still owns it. You still own everything in your garbage can until the truck hauls it off (which authorities have used in the past to charge dumpster divers with theft). So if he just abandoned it, it's still his and he needs to deal with it.
It’s what they do everywhere, sometimes to hilarious results. Sure, the big department seizes a Lambo and it’s awesome, but back in the mid 2000s, the Prescott, Wi cops had to settle for an old Cavalier with a giant wing and every item of car bling Kmart sold including the shiny 5-spoke plastic hubcaps. I felt sorry…
I want to know how that cop pissed off the boss enough to be made to wear the chicken suit.
This. I like cars. I have an inoperable fun car right now because the motor’s junk and I keep going back and forth on what I’m going to throw into it. I also have an operable fun car, two dailies and a yard work truck. None of my neighbors care because they’re all kept looking nice and aren’t eyesores.
Because they’re promising you rewards if you spend money, then arbitrarily reducing or eliminating those rewards after the money is spent.
Yeah, the bartender thing is pretty common.
Meanwhile, over here in Freedomland, as long as you can parallel park and, barely, identify letters on an eye chart, you get a license and never get retested, and you can drive anything from a Geo Metro to a Veyron to a 4o-foot motor home.
This.
That’s mild for Texas. The governor decided he didn’t like desperately poor people trying to escape certain death by swimming across the river into Texas so rather than do the normal thing and arrest them, he had saw blades installed on a bouy line so anyone trying to climb over the bouys would hit them and hopefully…
You forgot the bootstrap part.
Glad to see I wasn’t the only one driven nuts by the vaccine card size. ;)
The new Miata looks great, especially in that red. Thought about getting one. Then got in it and, yep. 5'11 people need not apply. My MR2 has a *lot* more room in it, and that’s pretty amazing.
Noise standards aren’t only set by the DOT, and “whatever the maximum level the car is capable of” is not guaranteed to keep you in compliance.
Negative publicity because they keep murdering Black people.
I mean, you know you’re on a car site, right? Lots of us have cars we restore, mod, etc and the general vibe of this place is anything but MAGA. I know a number of people with classic cars who also have Harris/Walz signs in their yards.
Same thing is happening here. Cops got so offended that people dared to be upset with them for murdering George Floyd that they began refusing to do their jobs to teach us a lesson. People street race all over and every night it sounds like I’m trackside at the SCCA Runoffs. It’s getting old.
Yes, and when you rev your loud car other people who happen to be police officers will give you a ticket which you won't like but will have to live with it.
Terrible take. I’ve got a couple of cars that can be loud as hell if you really get on them. Which I do, at track days. If I drive through my neighborhood at 6,000rpm I should get a ticket for that even though the exhausts are street legal.
Cool. Then Jaguar should be forced to recall your car and replace the exhaust with one that can meet noise standards.
