I re-read the book not long ago, and liked it every bit as much as when I was a kid. It's a treasure.

Just over three years ago (July 17, 2014), my brother attempted suicide. His best friend, K, is very smart and figured out where to find him, and he was rescued in time. Though I have amnesia surrounding the events, I am told I played a role in the rescue (long-distance) - information I gave K over the phone helped
