A relevant joke:

I'm not usually home right as "Jeopardy!" is starting, but I was yesterday, and when I heard "Ragavan Ragsubramani", I said "He has 'Superman' in his name." (Yeah, not really.)

That's how mine was, long ago. The pic my sister texted was my niece with seven other kids, only two of whom were boys. Again, the school is small, and only started a few years ago (and includes elementary grades), so it does seem that all the high school kids can attend the dance.

Jimmy is James, isn't he?

It is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence. - William Kingdon Clifford (4 May 1845 – 3 March 1879)

So, is JJ "James, Jr."? Like JJ on "Good Times"?

My Clever Niece went to prom Saturday, and she is only a freshman. She didn't have a date, she was with classmates. Her school is small, and new. I just figured all the high school grades get to go.

May 15 is my Pop's 80th birthday. Since Pop has late-stage lung cancer, it's almost certainly his last one. His own father died of lung cancer at the age of 60, so Pop has lived longer than he thought he was going to. Hell, Pop beat breast cancer in 2011, he just can't beat lung cancer; he's had COPD for many years.

There is no other way to guard yourself against flattery than by making men understand that telling you the truth will not offend you. - Niccolò Machiavelli (3 May 1469 – 21 June 1527)

Vonnegut fan though I am, I haven't figured out how to do that.

I can't be on "Jeopardy!" again while Trebek is the host. Damnit, Trebek, retire and let Aisha Tyler have the job!

A human being is happiest and most successful when dedicated to a cause outside his own individual, selfish satisfaction. - Dr. Benjamin Spock (May 2, 1903 – March 15, 1998)

I intend to watch the season finale, just for completion, but I am out. Tandy and Carol are both intolerable now.

I'll watch the season finale next week, for the sake of completion, but then I am done.

There's no second chance on stage, and I was trained to make the most of my first chance. - Kate Smith (May 1, 1907 – June 17, 1986)

There was a midday storm that scared both dogs, especially the younger one. Then Power was ought for long enough for our smoke alarms to start chirping. That was stressing out the young dog. We took both dogs for a two-mile walk and returned to find the power restored.

I am middle-aged, so I've been seeing shows long time.

I have seen them.

Those lists of nine concert you've seen and one you haven't. That's mine.

Tuesday, at The the periodontist, I was having my teeth deep-cleaned, when the deep-hygienist noticed a spot on my palette. This led to a biopsy, which turned out to be “orthokeratosis” i.e. nothing to worry about.
