I listened to "Superfreak" yesterday afternoon; it's on "New Millennium Funk Party". It was a fun coincidence.

Kirsty MacColl (10 October 1959 – 18 December 2000)

But then I thought, "Wait a minute. If you look over my life, every step of maturing for me, every single one, had the same common denominator. It was accepting what was true over what I wished were true.” This was the case about guys, about my career, about my parents. – Julia Sweeney (born October 10, 1959)

Next week's challenge, from listener Darrell Myers of Somerville, Mass.: Name a
famous actress of the past — first and last names, 10 letters altogether. Change one letter in the first name and one letter in the last. The result is a two-word phrase naming a food item often found in a kitchen cabinet or refrigerator.

And Jerry Seinfeld.

And I'm on my way
I don't know where I'm going
I'm on my way I'm taking my time
But I don't know where
Goodbye to Rosie the queen of Corona
See you, me and the Holy Ghost

The only fault that may be inexcusable is refusing to learn. - Guy P. Harrison (b. October 8, 1963)

Oh, indeed, and there are skeletons.

I recall that Alex Trebek owns racehorses. So, I guess there's that.

"Mark and Sarah Talk About Songs" was again posted on Thursday. This week Mark and Sarah talk about "Marilyn" by Dan Bern, in a very short episode.

Your past is a skeleton walking one step behind you, and your future is a skeleton walking one step in front of you. Maybe you don't wear a watch, but your skeletons do, and they always know what time it is. - Sherman Alexie (b. October 7, 1966), "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven"

Not that bad; he said "an-AR-kist", which made me wonder how he pronounced "anarchy".

When I was 18 (1981-1982), I worked at B. Dalton Booksellers, and I once claimed I couldn't see it in the microfiche (or whatever our database was on) because the guy asking for it mispronounced "Anarchist". We had it listed and I knew people who had copies, but I was a judgmental young woman and thought if the guy
