I think it sucks more when the breakup is about circumstances or timing. Here’s a perfectly good relationship we can’t have because of X,Y, or Z. Plus, you get old and realize that love doesn’t really conquer all; that there ARE real reasons to not be with someone and sometimes nothing can be done to change it.

And some of the horrible people in the world are police officers and prosecutors who are more worried about closing a case than getting the right person and who will gladly run roughshod over some poor, barely mentally capable person if it gets them glory.

Well, have you read about the Innocence project? I hate to live in a society that blithely kills people in the name of revenge (while calling it justice). It’s even more disturbing when you fully recognize that “justice” is bought and if you don’t have the power and money, you’re fucked.
