Food poisoning isn't just a crappy time in the bathroom; it can kill people. You have no idea what sort of pre-exisitng medical issues the wedding guests had. Something like this can KILL someone. You and the chef are psychopaths to deliberately do this.

Except, if I remember correctly, the oxpeckers are mostly after blood. They will keep wounds open to feed off of the blood. It's sort of a symbiotic relationship, but one that's likely very annoying and painful for the hippo.

Yeah, that was the plan if she wanted to buy the dog. The guy abandoned the dog; she didn't decide to buy it. And she did have her kid to consider. Sure, she could have made a better choice, but what she didn't certainly doesn't seem to warrant the amount of hate she's receiving.

So, the answer was to take the dog on the train with her kid?

Oh, I'm so glad I misread that.

I'm a great believer in soaking stuff.

Hot corn syrup? Was something lost in translation or does that mean exactly what it sounds like it means?

You really think it works that way? That a random picture will prompt some stranger to track down the girl to kidnap her?

Of course her parents contributed to her suicide. She needed their empathy and support and instead found condemnation and rejection.

Humans are very bad at risk assessment and the media certainly plays a part in fueling hysterical fear. My favorites are the "moral panics" (think vodka tampons, "rainbow" parties and razor blades in halloween apples) that get plastered all over the media. BTW, media also includes local news stations who really seem

Well, the world is much less violent than it once was. That should mean it's at least a bit less terrifying.

It seems more like the parents are blaming the kids for not learning a different lesson than the one they've been taught for years and the kids are now being punished for not magically changing into better people once their behavior had crossed some arbitrary boundary. The parents don't seem to be accepting their

I sort of agree with Mak Fla. Did the kid agree to be put on display and filmed for TV? It is possible to think that it's both crass exploitation and be happy for a girl who got her puppy. As a kid I wasn't into being in the spotlight; not all kids are thrilled with the idea of being on tv.

I'm short and usually my feet don't reach flat on the ground when I sit in chairs. So, I often sit like that. I'm sitting like that right now in my office chair because even my own desk isn't sized right for my height.

Because men acting out with violence after being rejected has no precedent?

You're a shitty person, but not quite as shitty as the person actively cheating. How about that?

Should men be nurturing? Yes, but I should have been more clear. In men it's not really valued (on the whole) since it's considered a "womanly" trait. And traits associated with women are generally not as valued. However, a woman who is assertive, is a leader, a shrewd negotiator is often looked down on because

Not quite...we must make sure she's well into menopause before we can stop obsessing over her womb. Then, we'll start wondering why she isn't adopting.

Are men asked those questions? Are they suppose to be nurturing? If a man creates something is it viewed as a consequence of his failure to procreate (ie, an empty womb)? Really...you want to make this argument?

In the thumbnail pic I certainly didn't see it as a flower. I thought it was some sort of gruesome wound.
