As an angry and depressed teenager/young adult, his rap appealed to me. It was an outlet for anger I couldn’t express elsewhere. Other music did it better, and still holds up now that I’m much less angry.

And his biggest hit came from making the great guitar lick from “Sweet Home Alabama” unlistenable. How does someone get a hit out of making a song 100x worse than the original?
