There’s no shame in E-Fedding (or whatever the hell the verb would be), I spent a good 10 years Roleplaying and writing for a fed, and I credit that 100% to setting me down the path of Screenwriting. I guarantee that it helped your writing in some way, so embrace it! 

You’re not the court, you don’t have to give that ratfucker an inch. Innocent until proven guilty is a legal term; an invaluable one, but you aren’t under any obligation to enforce it in your day to day life.
