Oh yeah, I totally got where you were coming from! I like to think that I can appreciate a film whether it’s “feel good” or not. But somewhere along the line, the Academy got it into its head that something had to be a joyless slog in order to be “good.” Anything that is too likable/enjoyable has two strikes against

That she will never be held responsible for her words is extremely painful.

Oh, don’t you worry. Someone dude on the E! red carpet (I wish I could remember who) informed me that at least we now have gender equality in Hollywood.

thank you for explaining exactly how I feel. I used to want to participate in the conversation and over the last few years have grown quieter and quieter about the subject not because I don’t care, am not paying attention, or don’t want to help - but because every option is apparently wrong.

I feel like i spend about half the time being told I need to participate in the conversation, and about half the time being told “shut up and listen//you’re whitesplaining every time you talk//check your privilege//you can’t talk about this because you’ve never experienced//etc//etc//etc”

What exactly do celebrities have to apologise for?

I’m just glad white and black people could finally come together over mocking Asian people.

It causes an “unusual” amount of barfing.

Gotta add this one. I love Jenny Beaven not giving a flying fuck about Oscars formal wear. Totally badass.

I was dying at the Internet freaking out about Leo’s win last night.

It feels like the award gods delivered karmic payback. She has an acting Golden Globe she doesn’t deserve, so now she lost an Oscar she probably did deserve (at least of the nominated choices). The only shame is that Sam Smith benefitted from this.

I like her dress. But god, being married to JT must be fucking exhausting.

What I understand even less than his inability to ask Siri even if there had been any openly gay people who had won Oscars is the fact that his song won. It's an objectively bad song. How, when, whyyyyyy?

I don't even mind Leonardo DiCaprio, but I just wanted him to lose so, so, much. And for Mad Max to win Best Picture. But I'm one of those people who can't have nice things.

Dustin Lance Black’s tweet is a Leap Day gift to us all.

Heatherton turned 26. She should know she’s not going to hear from him.

And I will up the ante with this

Your approval is delicious

I heard the bear lost 50 pounds and got waxed and will be in the next Woody Allen movie.

Finally, DiCaprio can dig out something closer to Catch Me If You Can from his pile o’ scripts. I miss that DiCaprio.
