I'm not entirely sure as to what the visa regulations are, and whether you can get a work permit first before getting a job, but if I were an employer, I wouldn't want to be doing too much prep work unless you really are an absolutely OUTSTANDING candidate.
Have you worked for one or two agencies during your temp-work stint? If so, list the agency name as your employer, and then in responsibilities include the companies that you temped at.
You're right, they will be assuming that these roles will bore you.

Do you have to 'quit'? Can you study part time? Do you have to put a set time frame to your grad degree? Is it possible that you'll enjoy your job so much that you'll happily work there for longer than 2 years?
Salaries are highly confidential. You expressing to your boss that you aren't comfortable with his salary, probably won't do very much to help your case. Are you guys both performing the same role? There are situations where this will be ok, and this will be dependant upon the depth and breadth of your 2 year experience. If you can explain why your 2 years of experience is equivalent to 4-5 years, then by all means, you should apply. If you can't, then I wouldn't.
