So weird - I actually know the other guy in this clip!

Wait - so is the woman supposed to be a "half man?"

This article is kind of crazy - so you think there is no gray area? Since agave isn't perfect, everyone's okay to guzzle down corn syrup?

I was confused as to what SHE was saying. You were explaining what I was saying.

I wasn't confused. I was countering the idea that "everyone has their own specific caloric intake" was in any way new, and trying to convey that the average daily intakes have always been "averaged."

I'm not sure what your point is, or what you think my point is...but thanks for the essay? Yes, average amount of needed calories would have a lot to do with height (and weight actually).

It means that everyone would be different and it would be a matter of trial-and-error. I have a sneaking suspicion that my average needed calorie intake would be closer to 1600-1800 because I've been eating quite a bit less than that and have been losing weight fairly moderately. When I was not watching what I was

If it helps, she didn't come up with the name Patrick Lumumba - the police did.

No, no I mean, the average recommended calorie intake for women is 2000kcal (average for men is 2500). That would, essentially, mean that some women require 1200, and others 3100 - that wouldn't mess with the average though.

Oh man, well that sucks. About 36% of the population is overweight now though, with another 26% now obese. Does that mean everyone needs to be put on insulin pills? That's depressing/also we should universalize healthcare then.

I'm confused though - 2000kcal recommendation has always been touted as an average calorie rate. How does this refute that?

I hate to point this out...but the math problem Mfw was claiming was still true. You just had to eat less than the norm (but you still had to eat less).

I love that receiving four months of paid leave is considered a victory in this backwards country. What the hell are parents supposed to do with a four-month-old infant? Most daycares won't take them until they are at least six months, and even then parents are just working to have their child raised by someone else.

This is not uncommon for gymnastics/ballet at all, even in N.America. My coach would do this stuff to us, and do things like weigh us every week and scream at us if we gained anything. It's totally normal unfortunately.

Several of these people sound like they're just being nice, and making conversation. I propose another category:

I get you...though one correction: Justin Bieber is not actually American, unless you're one of those people that refers to everyone bron within the Americas as "American."
