I don't mean to offend your modesty, but your html is showing. #corrections

I remember a lot of math problems surround trains, cars speeds, and football teams. The language of math is pretty gendered already. Solving gender gap issues won't be done in one generation, but a big way we can jump start it is by getting little girls interested in math.

Well, her fear came from a friend's experience with an LC who was quite forceful.

I think she might be ambivalent, but that is better than adamantly against it like she was her first kid (not that there is anything wrong with that, but I was a bit surprised at the visceral reaction without researching). Hopefully she won't get a crappy LC and she'll at least give it a shot.

Yeah, admittedly, I am without children. When my sister first told me about the supposed pushiness of LCs I didn't really believe her at first, but then found the sentiment echoed in this story and thought there could be something to her fear. I'm sure there is every variety though.

I definitely will! My initial response to her fear was, "The best part about being a grown-up, is that you can tell someone not to touch you and to go away." Your advice is much better though.

Why are those lactation specialists so terrible? My sister has been thinking of breastfeeding her second, but she's so scared of these ladies and stories that she's heard about them. If they want women to breastfeed, why do they seem to be so awful about it all?

I wish that you could give upvotes on Jezebel. I would give you a million.

Now that's what I call a new leash on life!

It's pictures like that which always remind me that humans are actually disgusting, hideous animals that have the discomfort of being able to think about their own weird existence.

I just don't understand why one wouldn't choose the obvious term, "brozillians." To me, that's the most upsetting part of this whole issue.

Let's get the terminology right - it's called a "subreddit." Also, why are we surprised by this? I adore Reddit, but they let r/jailbait, and even worse subreddits survive, because they were afraid of the slippery slope of censorship.

With abortion rights eroded all over the country, and strong cultural stigma remaining especially in areas that restrict access - I hardly see how that is a "choice." That is just an illusion, the invokation of "choice" to make people feel better about their lack of control.

It's not a "choice." If the parent does not have financial assistance, than it isn't possible - it disadvantages the working poor. Other countries do this because it improves long-term health and emotional stability of children, so it is actually an investment in the future of the country.

Regardless, the US needs to have some sort of guaranteed paid maternity leave. It's disgusting that they expect mothers to be back at work two months after giving birth. Attachment parenting might be over the top, but it is only a reaction to the other extreme forced upon American parents by policy and the lack of any

Yes.

I love my mom so much, but she is ridiculously inept at giving bad news. She told me that my dog died in the subject line of an email, and last week she informed us kids that she was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation (we knew it was a possibility, not a certainty), through posting it on HER Facebook wall. My

I came here expecting to see a video of a mouse eating yogurt, seducing a lady mouse. What has the Internet done to me?

Thank you - I do this for a living, although normally I don't get write anything this caustic (so I take to commenting sections to get the urge out).

Ugh I strongly dislike this woman's writing. She comes across as a self-centred socialite, drug addict who publicly humiliates her employees because she, for some reason, feels qualified to impart necessary life lessons to those making less money than her (and who probably do far more actual work).
