@SuperMeels: I don't discount the help they have given you, but I speak from first hand experience when I criticize the psychiatric industry. My professors have told me of the absolute irresponsibility in prescribing medications, and I experienced first hand when after suffering a caffeine overdose I was mistakenly

@skahammer: The same way everyone else does it - by ignoring the cheating, resenting their partner and carrying on with their own lives.

@Moretta: Sure, but getting people addicted to drugs isn't always an answer.

@ArleenTerpsichore: There is very little evidence that most cases of depression diagnosed have anything to do with a "chemical imbalance." It is, in general, culturally constituted, although occasionally drugs can help.

@skahammer: I think it is probably more related to pregnancy than anything else, and if these guys are on the road constantly while their wife is at home with children, I don't see that as being remotely equal enough for it to work.

@skahammer: That sounds terrible. They get married so they can have their housework done. Can't imagine this is the type of person that would be alright with their significant other sleeping around - sounds quite traditional to me.

@Hana Maru: Thank you so much. I have a lot of friends in successful polyamorous relationships, but they started out as such. The proposal made by skahammer just seemed ridiculous and you articulated that perfectly.

@ceilidh: I'm using it as an example for why it wouldn't necessarily be the best arrangement for everyone.

@SomeAuthorGirl: Yeah, it does seem as if we are the first to be thrown under the bus.

Some people have a lot of time on their hands and they use it to make people wear hats.

Ah! I couldn't watch that all the way through. They just kept showing it again and again, and it looked terribly painful.

A "documentary musical?" Man, I would have hated to be one of this kid's friends growing up. Always figured it would be really awkward if someone just broke into song in the middle of a conversation.

Since I am almost a month older than my partner, does this mean that I have to be a size 0 or a child's size 16?

I find it so weird that N.Americans love Kate Middleton, yet when you read rags from the UK she is loathed. What's the deal? Why do we like her, and they don't?

Psh. I could have patented that shit at 14 after my parents renovated our bathroom.

As a TA, I fully endorse this tactic. I was just telling someone last night how I wished that students would screw with me more often, just to make sure that I'm reading their paper closely enough.
