Sadly, flying boats and amphibians seem to have gone out of style.

Nice to hear this from you! Good luck with the new post, but I think you’ll have more than a few of us following close behind to the next location.

NK clearly cannot stoop too low screaming for attention. Seriously, I would be embarrassed if my nukes were this small. And they filmed it to show everyone! Its sad, really.

Starting to wonder if Jerry had him bumped off so he could poach Tyler’s audience...I’m watching you Jerry!

Ha, if Tyler snapped that would make about as much sense as anything.

Hopefully! But you can’t just take off like that without saying so! Some of us have abandonment issues...and get tired of reading Gizmodo really quickly.

We all wish the F-18 a speedy recovery. Except for the maintainers who probably can’t speak without cursing right now.

Where the heck is Tyler?

Yeeesss the OV-10 is BACK!

This made my day!

I realized I was getting trolled when I got to the “Tree Kangaroo”. Seriously guys, I’m not 5, I know a made up animal when I see one. I’m starting to think “Australia” isn’t even a real place now.

I’m sure that conversation went something like...

That was actually the F-8 Crusader. Though they do share a similar lineage.

You underestimate how high this trajectory could reach. When the slug is dropping from the edge of space, hypersonic speeds should be completely plausible. See my response to FlankSpeed.

The concept of the railgun for naval gun support use is that the projectiles will fly parabolic arcs to an extremely high altitude before returning to the surface. Granted, this is for very long range (up to 200 miles), but use against ships should be possible since they already intend to implement GPS guided shells.

While others debate whether or not the high velocity of the shell would produce an in-and-out “wound”, lets also keep in mind the trajectory. At very long range, like the gun is designed for, the shell will be dropping into the target from a high angle. A slug passing through the top of a ship through its hull to the

Yep, didn’t really paid attention to the laser at first. I think the PEQ-15 has a daylight laser as well, but I suspect your rationale is best. Also you don’t want to mess up the zero by removing it.

I like the concept of flip to side magnifiers, but have never had the opportunity to really use one. They increase the weight a lot too, but I’m not sure it is significantly more than a variable 1-4x optic that would allow similar capabilities.

Flashlights (IMO) are extremely important to have on a rifle. You don’t always know how long you will be on duty, so its best to have some low light equipment. Even during the day though, you would be surprised by how dark corners can get. And indoors there are any number of reasons why an area would become dark at

Serious question: how do you maintain your Catholic beliefs (and I assume attend mass regularly, etc) as a gay? I ask this as someone who was raised Catholic and stopped practicing because I found it so intolerant.
