My favorite episode, indeed, one of my favorite episodes of any sitcom ever, was the one where the ghost visits the island. The wail the ghost makes as it haunts them during the night is just an awesome bit of sound. Really effective. And the fact that it's Richard (Jaws) Kiel as a Soviet agent is just awesome.

The Professor has a name too! Roy Hinkley.

And, it features Goldfinger's servant Oddjob as his man Friday. (Okay, I'm too lazy to look up the actor's name. Sakura? Sakata?)

Yep, Backus frequently got the best lines in the series. Mr. Howell could have come across as completely insufferable, but the fact that he had this dry sense of humor makes him really endearing, all thanks to Backus' performance.

As a kid (and a HUGE fan of GI) I would have said Mary Ann. As an adult, I realized not too long ago that I was definitely in the Ginger camp.

Completely agree about May. I usually hate these types of gruff, quiet, brooding characters and she's no exception. These traits don't make her fascinating, they make her irritating. (For an example of how this character SHOULD be done, see Casey on Chuck).

I like the raising of stakes with the invasion of Betazed. We don't really see any consequence of that, but it still packed some punch. On Memory Alpha is says they considered Vulcan, but that would have been too much of a punch.

When I saw Abrams' Star Trek in the theater, the first scenes on the Kelvin felt alien and off. The ship is primitive, dark and not very Star Trek like. Then the Captain identifies himself as Captain of the Federation starship U.S.S. Kelvin and all of the optimism and weight of those words hit me and all was right

There was also a Dalek and what looked to be the Captain Proton robot from Voyager.

Completely agree!  This has always bothered me.  Half a poison is NO poison.  You might as well just say that you'll poison him in the future.

If they want to do these weird, conceptual episodes, I don't understand why they never resurrected the Anthology of Interest series.  The cool thing about those two episodes is that they were framed within the reality of the Futurama universe and explored "what if" scenarios, rather than straight up parodies. This

Although I didn't love the episode, I also found GI Zapp pretty funny.  Nixon's interjections of dialogue were very clever.

It are my first language.

Am I the only one who thinks Delenn's vaunted and oft-quoted threat is needlessly complicated and awkward?

And you failed!

Those are the kinds of dreams I have as well.  I awake either feeling terribly guilty or angry at my wife (because of something she did in the dream) and it takes me a few minutes to realize it never happened.

You omitted something in your comment. I think what you meant to say is
"People are bigoted against Mormons because of the things that very
vocal groups of Mormons do or believe."  I'll give you the benefit of
the doubt, though, because we all make typos on occasion.

People aren't born Mormons.  People are "bigoted" against Mormons because of the things that Mormons do or believe.  There's a difference.

And a Klingon during first season TNG.

Uh, excuse me, but that "random security asshole" is Vaughn Armstrong! And he is awesome.
