@lapillus: Good timing. I actually spent my holiday break learning CS3 as an absolute beginner. So far I've found plenty of good info by just typing into google exactly what I want to do. Oh and Lifehacker has had links to some really good reference sites. Although I do prefer text and pictures to follow along with,

@micjwelch: I doubt this will lead to a corporate ban of Firefox. My work restricts what they consider p2p applications, but Opera is still fine. I'm actually excited about this, because now I'll be able to dl torrents on my work machine with out firing up Opera.

Can anyone give me a clear concise explanation of how exactly dlls are used by programs?

This does seem pretty interesting. I'm currently planning out the replacement for my Xbox with XBMC. I was leaning toward Mythbuntu or OSX with Boxee, but now I guess Windows should be considered too. I would love to replace my crappy Comcast DVR as soon as possible.

This would be great except my company actually makes me turn in the physical receipts taped to a piece of paper. Not even scans or copies are accepted. It wouldn't be too much of a pain if I wasn't on the road 20+ days a month. [/vent]

Leftover stuffing. Stuffed in some mushrooms. Add some parmesan cheese. Broil. mmm belicious.

What about Quake for the jailbrokem? Seriously, I haven't actually tried it. Is it any good?

What Mint needs is a better way to organize/pay bills. I haven't really found anything that works well for that, but if Mint could implement it, it would truly be my one stop for online finances.

@undefined: There was a little while that it didn't work with ING, but it does now. You'll probably need to go into your ING profile to set up the security questions to match those available within Mint.

That picture of the kitties makes me grin like a school girl every time I see it. But yes, this release is good news. I'll be downloading shortly.

@Hookem123: Less likely to own a computer? :)

@vp_shooter: I've installed Wubi and uninstalled it multiple times. It's always gotten rid of the Ubuntu Boot option.

How do I find the fastest mirror? I can't use bittorrent at work, but right now I've got between 3 and 4 hours left. I'm much too impatient for this.

@fooloncomputers: I think they probably will be. With Ubuntu 8.04 on my Dell D630 there were a few problems after the initial install (ie wireless.) However, after using a hard wire to run the updates, most of those problems were fixed. My point is that they seemed to figure out a lot after the release and I'd imagine

@FB: Are you just using the RC or is the final version out there somewhere now? I know the official release date is the 30th, but I want it now!
