That’s rather interesting! My wife also pointed out that “monarch” works as a gender neutral title too, they could have used that as well instead.

Technically, they keep referring to Titania as King of the Pixies. I think you’re supposed to assume they’re gender neutral despite their female-typed bodies. Then the title would default to the masculine in absence of a neutral form for king/queen. But meh, they could have gone with Oberon then.

All I want is a Wind-up Feo Ul. I don’t know if it’s already in there or not, but if it isn’t, it needs to be added ASAP, I want to adventure with my Lovely Branch all the time.

holy crap that game looks and sounds great! never heard of Journey to Silius before but I would definitely have lost all of my shits forever over a game this cool back when I was a kid. Great article about its origins!

I often hear “exploration platformer” for these types of games, it clings really well.

hopefully it’ll start with a young guy getting sucked into the immersive computer game that is FFXIV (through the monitor if possible), and land wonderful world of Eorzea where HE is hailed as the warrior of light and savior of their realm, all while he looks for a way to get back to his home dimenson. Obligatory

The comparison with candy/toy surprise packs absolutely does not stand... These typically have low value items that are mostly samey and hardly factor any form of rarity. You won’t ever see a set of Kinder Surprise eggs with 6 different toys where one is super rare; the odds of getting each are equal and completing

In some cases the situation is even more complex in that they have the source code but not all the assets. This was apparent when Final Fantasy IV was re-released on Playstation along with FFV. Some of the sound effects were missing (for example the Hummingway ‘hum’) and they ‘recovered’ them by recording the playback

I did, but if it’s like anything else, you’ll do it for maybe a handful of specific actions in boss fights and it’ll be an afterthought for every other battle in the 95% of the game that remains

sounds like it basically plays like FFXV minus the warp-strikes, which would be kind of neat, but I’m worried that having control of only one character in action RPGs makes the rest of the party somewhat irrelevant. It never feels like picking one side-character over another makes a big difference in these kinds of

The slide move and wall-jump stickiness is no surprise when you keep in mind that earliest builds of what later became Timespinner started out as something of a clone of Megaman X, as the creator felt the controls for that game were absolutely satisfying and would make a good starting point for any exploration platform

I’ll give you points for consistency, but that’s not how you spell odyssey :P

Depends on the commune, my wife works at a moving company and she’s had all sorts of parking reservation hijinks, Brussels being the worst despite attempting to make a unified process with Osiris (it’s really only made things more complicated, twice the paperwork, twice the delays). One particularly memorable case

People still have fax machines?!

Fine, prices in Euro, then, or is your suggestion only valid if it’s USD? There are people from all over the world reading Kotaku, there’s not just ONE info for pricing and availability. But I doubt that’s the reason behind the omission, given Kotaku has a history of giving a lot of thought about what should and

This is exactly the kind of stunt that ends carreers. Please, authors of the world, don’t pull shit like this. Plagiarism is a serious offense.

“TO GRIIIIND YOUR SKIIIIIN!!”

I think I need to watch it again, for science.

oh, it gets better, keep watching

What the actual undescribable fuck
