the only thing that really matters to me, and I’m not even sure this adresses it, is having downloadable game licenses tied to the nintendo account and TRANSFERABLE to other consoles, and not console-based like the current horrible system

Again, like many other games that promise actions with consequences, you’re presented with a binary ending that takes nothing into account of all the choices that led up to it. Either you sacrifice Chloe, and none of the choices you made throughout the game exist anymore in that timeline, or you sacrifice Arcadia Bay,…
I’d have to agree, I love the series as a whole but the beer bottle hunting was clearly the weakest part. Whoever designed this needs a good punch in the gut. There is no way in hell it never came up in playtesting that this part is NOT FUN. The next part where Chloe shoots down the bottles and all sorts of wacky shit…
Do the new generations actually go to Pachinko parlours as much as the older people though? No matter how much video game and anime branding they can throw in, it’s still a pretty awful environment to spend your time in and they’re going to have a hard time convincing the youth to go spend their cash on tiny metal…
While I’m tempted to get the expansion and see firsthand how things changed, I do keep in mind that compared to the many hours I’ve invested in Civ V, Civ: BE instilled a much quicker “Nope, I’m done” feeling. I regularly have a Civilization itch, which Civ V has been able to adress in the most satisfying ways over…
Does it fix the constant undismissable “Discover Playstation” hints on startup, I think I know by now where to find the Power Settings in the menu.
Not to be confused with the identically-titled Lifeline (known in Japan as Operator’s Side), a PS2 game about guiding a trapped cocktail waitress named Rio through a space resort/hotel under attack by aliens, using voice commands alone through a USB headset specifically designed for the PlayStation 2.
Obviously this game is taylored for fans, and a lot of stuff that would seem random to the average players actually have their references in PewDiePie video history. These things, the fans will recognize immediately and fondy remember the videos and general hilarity tied to these symbols. I’m enjoying it a great deal…
It’s not just a matter of visual representation, hex (or triangle) tiling and square tiling don’t align the same way. They’re functionally very different and will lead into different gameplay rules. This affects how battles will play out with regards to facing enemies, using area of affect attacks, guarding against…
Inb4 Peter Dinklage gets ousted in favor of Nolan North
In case everyone already forgot about this, this isn’t the first time some of the project’s core features are altered drastically. One of the major selling points for this game was the fact that it was meant to use a triangular tile system (functionally equivalent to a hex grid) rather than a traditional square grid.…
I think I would play the shit out of any JRPG that has a battle system that draws inspiration from Chrono Trigger’s comboing. kinda wonder why this still isn’t a thing (apart from Chrono Trigger) even today. The only other games I know of that have comboing either do it through super secret endgame special attacks, or…
Well, they’re different, there are some things Nolan North does better, but Peter Dinklage’s “...Don’t do that.” I vastly prefer, there’s a bit of repressed shame to it that I just can’t find in Nolan North’s rendition.
I’m staying in Ginza for a business trip right now for like 8 days. Just a stone’s throw away from Akihabara (ok, a few metro stations away...). Kinda rainy at the moment, hope it’ll get better as I definitely want to see Akihabara again under the sun, as I did a few years ago.
This is also a wink at something that used to be done in the 16bit era. Final Fantasy IV had a similar Developement Room hidden in the dwarves castle. That was cut from the original US release (as Final Fantasy II on the SNES), most likely because it included a joke item that was basicaly a porn magazine hidden in one…
I missed that beard
The GameCube version is easier (and cheaper last I checked) to find, and it has a little more content with extra sidequests and optional bosses, and more discoveries. Content that was previously unlocked by downloading special files to the VMU is included directly in the GC port, and the Pinta’s Quest VMU minigame is…
I was about to say that I very much enjoyed the custom console’s construction, but not its finish. It should have been silver and blue like the Delphinus, and very very very shiny.
Valkyria Chronicles is not actually improved in any way other than being able to set a higher resolution. It’s still the same old textures, unimproved, and FMVs still run in 720p. All we got to balance that out is a ton of new bugs that spawned from having variable framerates from one PC to the other. Faster machines…
Then again, there’s nothing that looks more like a picture of Fushimi Inari than another picture of Fushimi Inari. The greyscale is actually surprising and original, in this case.
