To be perfectly honest, the pieces that aren’t black are frightening me.

Kotaku’s already covered the project a few months back before it found its way on Kickstarter, I think people definitely had a chance to look into it, bookmark their website, like their Facebook page or whatever. See here:

This is just speculation based on rumors, but consider this:

It’s all about telling the story from the perspective of someone other than the actual hero (heroine in this case, Ashe). This is quite a bold move for the Final Fantasy series, and a good exercise in style for storytelling altogether.

Not only was the voice-over extraordinary thanks to quality voice actors like Gideon Emery, but the writing itself is amazing. Final Fantasy XII is probably the first game in the series where English translation was more than an afterthought. The richness of language and editing is simply amazing.

Oh my god, so there actually ARE people who LOVED FFXII besides me.

I think the point was “fuck Proper capitalization”

The frightening thing about all this is that while they’re obviously taking a step away from the home console video game industry to focus on other, more lucrative business sectors, they still own all these brands and IPs people love, and will be sitting on them until better times come, or they disappear completely.

Pro-tip: Use a Sega Genesis (Megadrive) controller if your old Atari 2600 controllers are all dead. Not only is the plug identically-shaped, but the wiring is also perfectly adapted. Buttons do exactly what you expect they would. It just works.

To be fair, though, this version has AMAZING high-def sprites for monsters and battle scene backgrounds. I agree it’s too bad the characters didn’t get the same treatment, but most of everything else looks TONS better than any other version previously released. Plus, the character portraits in menus and speech windows

in my native language, “sonder” means “to probe” (French)

Surprisingly enough, these defective figurines often end up being worth a lot, providing they’re not opened like the one in this post. Though not all production defects can be as awesome as Samus’s perfected Amiibo with DOUBLE THE FIREPOWER. Who needs hands anyway?

On one hand, you have these forum-based “news outlets”, with user-verified, user-filtered content, where the stuff people like to see gets first stage! Citizen Journalism! The people have voted!

HE WENT BACK FOR HIS HAT WHILE YOU WEREN’T LOOKING!

it’s a remake of the sequel. FFIV The After Years was initially released in episodic format on Japanese cell phones, then found its way to the Wii with some enhancements as a WiiWare title, then landed on PSP with upgraded 2d graphics, bundled with a remake of FFIV which improved upon the GBA port. Then iOS/Android

Can’t really go anywhere near the topic of libido without affecting age rating though.

Umm, you don’t have to agree or disagree, it’s a fact. That’s not the interface FFXIV:A Realm Reborn uses today, having played it from Alpha, it actually never looked like that.

The comparison gif at the top of the page takes a very early development mock-up of FFXIV’s interface, it’s changed A LOT since then.

to paraphrase your comment: “It’s not sexism, it’s tropes. There’s no such thing as a sexist trope”.

Kotaku IS doing better, but it’s just more fun for GamerGate to keep the bitching going, so they won’t acknowledge any of the efforts made., I mean, what are they going to do without a scapegoat? Kotaku isn’t the only site to denounce the mysoginist nature of GG, or how its fight is an unfocused blur of unclear
