If we had a more compassionate justice system, I might believe that Leslie Van Houten deserved some compassion, too. However, there are thousands of people in prison serving disproportionate sentences for relatively minor crimes. Leslie Van Houten is not one of them.

Only white people are allowed to be children at 19 even if they have committed vile, violent, hideous crimes. The rest of us are lucky to still be considered kids at 11.

She stabbed an innocent woman fourteen times and used her and her dead husbands blood to write on the walls. She’s a murderer.

Fuck her. She was old enough to know that participating in a double murder would have some serious consequences.

I don’t care if she’s dangerous or not (I mean, I do, but.) She got a life sentence for a horrifying crime and that’s what she should serve.

I have an abusive partner who I have become terrified to even speak about to friends and family. Why? because no one believes that a woman could abuse a man when it comes down to actually providing needed support.

Holy shit am I tired of hearing the phrase “playing the victim” used about a woman who was literally just in a courtroom getting justice for being sexually assaulted this month.
