The crazy thing is, it seems like she doesn’t always even treat celebrities well! There are definitely some interviews where she’ll be pushing some prank or line of questioning really hard, and the celebrities seem really really uncomfortable with it all.

Your employees are unhappy with how you treat them:

yeah ellen being like all the rich, powerful people on my show thought it was amazing and were treated so well is fucking HILARIOIUS. like ummmm none of us ever doubted that you treated the CELEBRITIES well, it’s your goddamn employees we’re concerned about.

Everybody knows (or was in) the kind of family that acts super united and smiley in public or for company and absolutely tears each other to shreds behind closed doors. It’s not like it’s hard to fake some smiles and fruit baskets in front of whichever celeb is on set for forty five minutes.

I submit to the editors of this site to refrain from using the term “cancel culture” any further.  Instead, rebrand it “Accountability Culture”, it is deeply unhelpful to use the words the disingenuous and bad actors cry every time there is an instance of a wrong being righted.

That her response to accusations of a toxic culture by employees is an emphasis on how her GUESTS perceived the environment tells me everything I need to know about what that workplace was actually like.

Cox, who plays coffee shop owner Gail, was voiced by male actors in the Italian, German, and Spanish versions of the movie, an error that a Universal spokesperson described as “a bias that neither we nor many in our industry had recognized.”

That made me think someone’s trying to really hurt me.” By all means, the main thing here is that “they” are out to get you. It’s not about anyone else or how they were treated, you fucking hack, it’s about a vast conspiracy to hurt you, because with your hundreds of millions, you are the one most at risk.

I do believe, with hard work and honest reckoning, people can grow out of the ignorance, fear, and projection that leads them to be racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, sexist. Basically all the isms.

I thought this would be about individual therapy.  I wouldn’t do it, but some people are really lonely and want people to see them.  Perhaps they would hope that people would watch the show and reach out to them.  Perhaps individuals or couples would do this because they think they are right and want the viewers to

Sure, Jan

Your summary of her show belongs in TV guide. It’s perfect.

Ahh yes, I’m sure there abusive workplace was really hurtful *to her*. And she didn't even have a platform to respond! You know, except for all of her platforms.

Her show sucks and it always has.

He’s always been my biggest advocate and, not that Portia isn’t, but she’s also selfish and wants me to do things that I’m challenged by

There’s this story I used to hear on the radio in Boston about a young man and his family who travelled out to meet Ellen backstage at a taping. They had contacted the staff, made all the arrangements themselves...And Ellen backs out and the show ghosted the family. 10 minutes of her time was all it would have taken.

Today I learned that Harvey Weinstein is either a woman or gay.

Too bad her employees didn’t find working on the show as un-challenging as she did.
