I get the obsession because I love me some fancy kicks; what I don’t understand is people building neon shrines in their house for their collection...and then NEVER WEARING THE SHOES.

I liked Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, but holy shit, that movie is already about an hour too long.* Watching it stretched to series length with a lead who was a zygote when The Gong Show premiered just seems like torture.

Because everyone has different tastes in music. Based on her sales and popularity, I am going to assume a lot of people think her music is great. Not sure who benefits from slamming artists people don’t personally think “sounds good”.

I’m feeling really downcast about the future at the moment. This disease will never go away, and we’ll all need booster shots in six months, depending on whether that’s six months from the first shot or the second, that could be June for me.

Honestly, I doubt most people are going to see social routines much different from summers before the pandemic. Maybe for the first couple of weeks we’ll be more social than usual, but humans settle back into patterns fairly quickly.

One small correction: Kopechne wasn’t a waitress, but a secretary who had previously worked for Bobby Kennedy’s presidential campaign.

Beatts was responsible for this fake ad in an issue of “National Lampoon” in the early-1970s. It may be the single most biting, ballsy piece of political humor I’ve ever seen. Stick with this, because it’s pretty great:

Is it “bothsidesism” to say that Ted Kennedy’s popularity among liberals/progressives shows that conservatives are hardly the only ones willing to overlook terrible things for political reasons?

Like Freaks and Geeks, Square Pegs was way ahead of its time. I read she wanted an all female writing team, in 1982, but CBS forced a token man in there. She was brilliant.

If Rihanna does not attend it will be a footnote.

Everybody is surprised when I tell them that young Michael Stipe was a pretty boy.

This is just blatant childishness as far as I’m concerned. Why European can’t muster the courage to do the considerate thing for a friend she supposedly loves so dearly is beyond me.

Life happens, best laid plans and all that. But yeah, you gotta be honest about what’s happening. And whatever is happening now for each of you doesn’t necessarily rule out the Golden Girls retirement you both talked about. The pathway to that took some unforeseen twists, is all.

Or, the friend already knows the happy European is not moving back, and has been waiting for the truth, and is running out of patience.

how an unemployed guy with no visible skills or resume kept falling into amazing jobs”

Someone AutoCAD an explanation for how Jerry and George were able to date only beautiful women.

What is the deal with Jerry’s apartment?

Khloe was a grown woman. CGM was what, 16? But yeah, I'm sure Khloe would be quite the therapist.

Yeah such empathy, I totally remember how empathetic she was towards a teenager like Chloe Grace Moritz.
